After two hard days of battle, Riftbound has its second repeat Regional Qualifier Champion as Squirtle playing Azir came out on top of the game’s most diverse Top 8 yet - eight different champions: Azir, Annie, Sett, Master Yi, Darius, Diana, Rek’Sai, and Viktor. Squirtle also piloted Azir to victory a few weeks ago at RQ Lille.

As far as the larger tournament, we saw again every Champion represented at the start, with six failing to qualify for day 2. However, at the other end, we saw Master Yi, Wuju Bladsman, Azir, Rek’Sai, Diana, and Sett finishing Day 1 undefeated.

It is also undeniable that Master Yi, Wuju Bladesman has found its time to shine in the metagame as it has consistently been a top tier deck ever since RQ Lille. This RQ, though, triples his presence in the field having been steadily in the low twenties since RQ Lille. Will Master Yi carry the torch in Hartford this weekend? What do you think?
