Spiritforged Preview Season

All the latest about where to see reveals for Spiritforged

Preview Season: Spiritforged Style

Riftbound: Spiritforged is around the corner, so get psyched, because our next preview season has arrived! It’s that special time in a release cycle when we get theorycrafting about card combinations and deck possibilities, and if you’re new or just Riftbound-curious it’s a great time to dive in.

Observant Riftbounders have no doubt already spied some of Spiritforged’s new cards in videos like the TFT Dev Drop and the Spiritforged Reveal Video from Dave and Chengran. In case you missed it, here’s what they showed off for us. Thanks, fellas!

In Spiritforged, weapons aren’t just tools, they’re extensions of your identity. In this set, the Ionian Spirit Blossom has lifted the veil between the mortal and spirit realms, while new weapons and armor have been forged to meet this moment.

Spiritforged takes Origins and builds upon it in every way, with more ways to play each Domain, 12 new Legends, equipment that lets you enhance your units, and a new gear token type, Gold, which provides a new path to power.

Preview Season starts today, ramps up on November 21st, and goes all the way through December 3rd! Along the way, we’ll share everything you need to know about the cards coming in Spiritforged!

What’s in Spiritforged?

Spiritforged, the first official expansion in Riftbound, is smaller than Origins, but don’t let that put you off, because Spiritforged contains 221 new cards to spice up your Riftbound games. That’s right, you’ll have plenty of new Units, Gear, and Spells to create cool interactions and keep your opponents guessing. Let’s get into ‘em!

Champion Legends:

Spiritforged will see the release of 12 new playable Champion Legends. Who are they? Can’t say! But if you’re curious, be sure to check out our PAX Preview Panel! As these legends are revealed, keep an eye out for new keywords like Repeat, Gold, and Equip, then let your deckbuilding brain run wild with possibilities as the rest of the set gets revealed!

Overnumbered Cards:

In Riftbound’s second set, you’ll see a whopping 40 Overnumbered cards. Hot damn!

And they’re not all legends this time! This time you’ll see gear, champions, and well, yes some legends. Psst, don’t tell Dave, but we’re going to be sneaking these out to the community ahead of launch in some fun ways, so make sure you keep an eye on our social channels!

Though Overnumbered reveals are split between the CN and EN speaking regions, don’t worry! We’ll make sure to post them for everyone to enjoy once they’ve been shared by the appropriate team!

Where and when to see new cards

How You’ll See the Cards

There are a few different avenues you can take to get your eyes on the new cards, like…

1: To help share all the deets, we’re calling in some friends. You’ll see plenty of our reveals coming from our handy dandy press and influencer partners! Follow our partners and press for their reveals, plus their thoughts and observations as seasoned Riftbound players. They won’t just show off these cards, they’re gonna show you how to play them. It’s a great way to get a jump on Spiritforged. You didn’t hear it from me, but some of them might even be showing off alternate art! We’re pumped to share Spiritforged with you and so are they.

2: Check back to see if our Card Gallery has been updated. Whenever a card is revealed out there on the internet, we’ll update it here too. English cards will be added every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 5:00PM PST until all of Spiritforged’s cards have been revealed.

Fun fact! Not every card will get an official preview! Be sure to watch the Riftbound Card Gallery, because even the cards without official previews will be added for a complete view of the upcoming set! After every update to the card gallery, new additions will be tagged “new,” so you won’t miss anything if you’re checking in.

Our Partners

We’re excited to be working with some of the best partners on the scene to bring you our card reveals. You’ll see posts and videos from such luminaries as Z, IGN, Turn ‘em Sideways, GameSpot, and Medic. We’ve listed them out at the end of this article, in case you want to like and subscribe before the big day.

Worried that you might not follow everyone we tap? Be sure to follow the hashtag #RBSpiritforged to see every single drop.

The Super Secret Part

Psst… you still reading? Good!

Since Spiritforged Organized Play events start in China as soon as our Preview Season ends, we want to make sure you get to see what’s incoming for your Pre-Rift events, Nexus Nights, and Summoner’s Skirmishes!

Pre-Rift Events are Our Prerelease

When you attend a Pre-Rift event, you’ll get a kit to build a sealed deck. Just like the Release Event promos for Origins, your Spiritforged Pre-Rift Kit will include a legend from the set and a champion unit featuring a special Spiritforged Stamp!

We’d love to show you what these cards look like, but that would spoil some of the fun of preview season. So you’ll have to wait just a little longer! Pre-Rift Events will happen a week before Spiritforged’s official release in supporting game stores.

And in other news, your Nexus Night promo packs are gonna be really cool for Spiritforged! Not only do you have the chance to snag new cards from Spiritforged, but you’ll also have the opportunity to pull a special Spiritforged alternate art rune, or one of 16 of the Uncommons and Rares printed (until now, exclusively) in Proving Grounds! That’s right! You can finally get that foil Garen I know you’ve been waiting for!

Summoner’s Skirmishes are looking equally cool! Just like with the rest of Spiritforged, both March and April Summoner’s Skirmishes will be celebrated with promotional equipment cards. We can’t reveal them yet, but we’ll be showing them off just as soon as reveal season has concluded.

In fact, you can look forward to Equipment cards for Regional Qualifier prizing and Judge promos, too!

Ok, now we’re really done with the excitement.
