Rules Hub

One page for easy access to the current rules of Riftbound

Below is a collection of Riftbound’s latest rules documents. If you’re ever curious about Riftbounds current rules, regulations, systems and practices, let the below documents be your guide.

Are you wanting to learn Riftbound? Go here instead. The below documents are useful in the way that a car manual is useful when you’re learning to drive. Which is to say, it is useful for some, but probably not yet useful for others.

Constructed Format Legality

All sets currently produced for Riftbound are legal to be played in sanctioned tournaments at your local game store as well as at larger tournaments. Starting in 2028, we intend to introduce rotation of legal sets for play in Standard Constructed (our primary constructed format.)

The following are banned from play in sanctioned Constructed tournaments:

Cards

  • Called Shot

  • Draven, Vanquisher

  • Fight or Flight

  • Scrapheap

Battlefields

  • Dreaming Tree

  • Obelisk of Power

  • Reaver’s Row

Core Rules

The Core Rules are the engine that drives a Riftbound game. This document covers deckbuilding rules, timing and resolution of cards and abilities, order of effects, and all the other little rules that define the flow of a game.

Tournament Rules

The Tournament Rules outline the guidelines for running Riftbound tournaments and deckbuilding guidelines to the Riftbound experience that occur when taking part in an official event.

The Tournament Rules also provide additional guidance for running tournaments and adjudicating issues that arise during play.
