Riftbound at Events in 2025

Check out Riftbound's event attendence in 2025, and what activations you'll find there!

2025 is more than half over, and at the time this article is being written, Riftbound is less than a month away from its launch in China, and a short 3 months from its English release. With that in mind, the Riftbound team is dedicated to providing as many cool opportunities to test out the game as possible. Below, you’ll hear a little more about where we’ll be, what we’ll be doing there, and what you can expect to bring home with you!

Where to find Riftbound at events

Ever since we announced our attendance at GenCon and MSI, you’ve been asking us where else we’ll be. And though we haven’t locked in every convention or event Riftbound will be at in 2025, we can certainly share some additional information.

First, the part you probably expected. It’s no secret that the Riftbound team loves a good esports event. From the TFT Macao Open to now MSI, we’ll follow Riot’s competitive gaming events all around the globe. You can expect some kind of Riftbound presence at major Riot global esports events to provide a (slightly) less adrenaline-filled experience than what’s happening in the arena including Worlds in China and TFT Paris Open.

Now, for the slightly less expected news; physical card games thrive in convention environments, which means you’ll be able to find Riftbound at tabletop conventions, too! The ability to sit down anywhere, anytime and play against an old opponent or new friend is part of what makes Riftbound a little different from Riot’s other games. With this in mind, you’ll see us at major tabletop conventions around the globe to share these analog experiences with gamers. Expect to see Riftbound at major events in and outside of the US in the remainder of 2025.

For the time being, we’re happy to share that in addition to GenCon and MSI, you can expect to see Riftbound at PAX Unplugged, [redacted], and [redacted]. As soon as we release more information and resources about purchasing Riftbound Products, we’ll be announcing additional events in the first week of August!

What we’ll be doing there

This question is super easy to answer- we’ll be playing Riftbound! Each event will look a little different, but giving fans the opportunity to play the game will never change. Any other activations will be purely additive. Sometimes, it’ll be a panel. Sometimes, a sealed event or creator space. Sometimes we might even be showing off something from the next set! Regardless, we’ll let you know well in advance- and we’ll never gatekeep things revealed or shared at events.

For GenCon, we’re sharing a traditional booth space with our publishing partner UVS Games, and showing off some of the fancy, foily, fantastic chase cards in Origins for the first time. Of course, with the English launch being later in the year (October) we will not have any Riftbound product for sale. However, we will have our first English promo card available as part of our demos in the gaming hall. This promo card will be used for the remainder of our events outside of China for 2025, and will be replaced with a new promotional card for 2026.

Transparently, we want to provide multiple opportunities for fans to pick up our promo cards, and we do not intend to release promotional cards that are mechanically unique. China will also have this same promotional card at their event presences- but in Chinese. The rationale behind this is to provide a player experience that rewards attendees of events where Riftbound is present with something special to commemorate the occasion, without disrupting the Riftbound meta with powerful cards that can only be accessed through the purchase of an event ticket.

In the GenCon Gaming Hall players will be able to sit down and try out two different Riftbound Formats: 1v1 (recommended for first time players) and 4 player free-for-all. You must purchase (free) tickets to participate in these demos. Once you’ve completed your demo and signed up for our newsletter, you’ll be given a promo card as a thank you for participating! Limited tickets are still available here.

This demo space will also have a special table set up for recorded game play featuring some unconventional and feature game play- so make sure you stop by over the weekend! You can stop by and see Dave and Chengran finally settling the Volibear vs. Yasuo score (Sunday) as well as a special kind of chaos that our team has branded “Teemode” in addition to gameplay featuring your favorite creators and game devs.

3rd Party Events

As you can imagine, the Riftbound team is busy launching the game- so we won’t be able to attend every event ourselves. However, enthusiastic partners and distributors from all over the world are excited to help represent Riftbound at events and share it with players. This means you can expect to see frequent opportunities to play Riftbound ahead of launch, and purchase product or play with friends after launch. We’ll announce specific events and locations as we finalize plans with our partners, so keep an eye on socials for an event near you-and have no fear, promotional cards will be available at these events as well.

The scope and depth of Riftbound’s presence at these events will be largely determined by our partners, but announcements in advance should clearly outline what types of experiences are available to attendees.

tl/dr: Riftbound will be at lots of events this year- even outside the US and CN! There’s a cool promo card you can get, and lots of neat experiences to be a part of. Riftbound’s social media will share information as events become finalized.
